Gamesys

OVERVIEW

I worked in Gamesys as a Technical Artworker for the artworking team. My role as an artworker was to convert game art into digital assets to be used to create online gambling games. I served as a go-to point between the artist teams, producer, animators and developers to ensure each digital asset is accounted for and the game building process is done in an effective and efficient manner. Therefore constant communication which each team was a requirement.

DIGITAL ARTWORKING

This is essentially the process of converting game art into functional digital assets. The process includes breaking down the game art into particular functions of the game like the Symbols and the reels, ensuring they are pixel perfect before being sent off to the developer.

To ensure an efficient process from a memory standpoint, certain methods would be applied for example, one aspect of the game art being cut out and replicated and mirrored during development and using certain pieces.

LOCALISATION

This is the process where certain design elements in the game get translated to different languages based on the country the game is marketed to.
